Mirror - a world of possibility
Only, you know, even backwards, it was a better picture, it was clearer than if you was just looking straight at it.

A reversed image, or one that is upside down, is uber-rationalized by the mind to form a more coherent and clarified object that the mind can more readily recognize. Test it: draw a slightly disproportionate face, maybe a little crazy or on edge, and then turn it upside and show it to someone. Then tell them to close their eyes, and turn it right-side up.
The same is true of text and complex images that are mirrored-- you mind will correct errors to make it easier to interpret.
