yay - one step at a time - a world of possibility
yay - one step at a time
for those unaware, yet interested i have started my journey into the public art world.  i've been doing art shows for a little over a month now (almost every weekend).

in the begining i was happily surprised by how many people would come in and stare and/or do a double-take walking by the booth.  people actually like my pictures, enough to stop walking and come look.

today i had my first non family / friend sale of a mounted piece.  this was great.  and the guy was really nice as well.  he came in the previous day with his fluffy dog (she was adorable) and liked 2 pieces.  he said he'd be back today.

he came back, minus fluffy friend because it was raining and she was enjoying a nap.  i was so excited i forgot to give him the piece of paper with it that has the description of the piece, number, etc.

hopefully he will email me for the few pictures i took of his dog so i can send it to him.

so yeah,
 . .

just thought i'd share my big smile moment for the day (there's lots of moments)

hope all be wonderful

Congratulations sugar-wazz! That's a great post to read.

I'm doing quite well, thanks. Very happily married now. :)

I am indeed in the UK and am staying over this way. It's a different style of life here that suits me well. :)

It sounds like you're doing well and happy as ever. How are aspects of life aside from the art world treating you?

glad you are enjoying the uk. what kind of trouble are you up to there?

congratulations btw, any little cheescakes coming into the world in the next few years?

for a while there wasn't much outside of art world, ;) what there there is, is good. i'm definitely loving my new home (ouray, colorado - www.ouraycolorado.com). when i was driving back west with my mom, once we got into colorado (far enough for mountains) i knew i was home :D

now i'm back in md (via flight) for a friends wedding. then to alaska for a marathon.

i'm looking forward to my colorado art shows after one more out of state - that way i'll see more of my boyfriend, kittie & ouray (including friends).

hope all be wonderful

Trouble? LOL Not quite sure if it counts as that, but I'm working hard on my PhD (combined study of volcanology and stats) and not too much else atm. Bit of politics in my life, too: city council. :)

I'm so happy for you that you've found an area that feels like home. :) It's fantastic when you just love where you are, isn't it?

I'm so happy for you that your art shows are doing so well so that you can do what you love for your career! It makes such a difference with overall happiness level!

And as for any 'little cheesecakes'... well, we're just say that my clock is definitely not ticking right now. Neither is my husband's. ;) Aside from which, I have no idea how one of the other women in my office is doing her PhD and being a full-time mum for two kids, as well. We'll see what happens in 5-10 years, but now is definitely not the right time for me.

I hope that the friend's wedding goes/went well! And that you enjoy the Alaskan marathon. You are keeping up the travel! Keep living life to the fullest. :)

really delayed :)

volcanolagy and stats? like the statistics of volcanoes? i'm guessing stats is statistics - not so sure about volcanology (i'm guessing dif than vulcans from start trek - or whatever sci fi that is)

sounds quite interesting, well maybe not so much the stats always.

city council - wow you are busy :)

it is def nice to find someplace you live - i take it you love where you are.

have any idea where you's like to go with your phD?

hope all be wonderful
