To be in the present is actually to be in eternity - a world of possibility
To be in the present is actually to be in eternity
To be in the present is actually to be in eternity.

The more happiness we ourselves experience, the more we can give to others. It is quite impossible to give what we ourselves do not have.

We are not obliged to think negative thoughts, yet we constantly do. . . . We put our minds on such matters, which are bound to make us unhappy. Even though we know already that doing this will make us suffer, we still do it.

In everyone's life there will inevitably be some things that are not satisfactory, that arouse discontent. If we contemplate these they will grow out of proportion and fill our thoughts. If, on the other hand, we put our mind on all there is in our lives that is truly good, truly satisfying, then it will be our contentment that grows and explands.

Things are as they are and this is all right; it is the way they are supposed to be. There are causes and effects, though we will usually not be able to see them clearly. That does not matter. What matters is to see that our lives, moment by moment, are providing us with a learning situation. When something comes up that we do not like, that we find unsatisfactory, the very first thing to do is ask ourselves what we can learn from it. Rather than pushing against it and wishing it were different . . . we enquire: "Am I learning anything from this?" Not to learn from our experiances is a tremendous waste of time.

Thank you.

You have absolutely no idea how much I needed these little pearls of wisdom right now. (No, literally, right now. *smile*)
Thank you very much.
